Overview of the WIOA Youth Program

 

The WIOA Youth Program is intended to provide continual services with a range of program options emphasizing the long-term development of youth that prepare them for succeeding in employment, including summer employment opportunities linked directly to academic and occupational learning.

 

 

 

Eligibility Criteria:

The program serves youth ages 18 to 24 that live in San Bernardino County (outside of the city limits), are low-income, unemployed, and meet one or more of the following eligibility criteria:

 

  • Deficient in basic literacy skills

  • High school dropout

  • Disabled/ Special education

  • Foster Care/ After Care

  • Substance abuse

  • Parenting/ Pregnant youth

  • County assistance/ Cash aid

  • Offender

  • Homeless

  • Gang status/involved

  • Youth of incarcerated parents

  • Limited English
